The Oklahoma Aquarium is a regional asset that supports education, tourism, and economic development for all of Tulsa County. The facility and programs also encourage the growth of business in new economic sectors associated with freshwater and marine biology, oceanography, aquarium support, wetlands and wildlife conservation. Capital support from Vision 2025 for the Oklahoma Aquarium will further enhance the facility and help to stimulate new private investment and development along the Arkansas River. The aquarium is expected to attract a half a million visitors per year. The annual financial impact to the local economy is estimated to be $18 million.
